Does Laser Ablation Work?

As with all of our treatments, we begin with a consultation about the procedure and perform an ultrasound (duplex) exam to confirm the diagnosis and determine the best treatment options. It is very important that the ultrasound be performed properly. Those with experience in performing these types of tests recognize this as a simple, yet important, test to determine the appropriate treatment. Once a plan has been identified, the procedure can be scheduled based upon your convenience.

The ablation is performed with the use of only local anesthesia, so that there are no general anesthesia risks. The local anesthetic minimizes any pain or discomfort without the risks usually associated with general anesthesia. The procedure takes less than one hour, and, upon discharge, you are able to walk about on your own and resume most activities.
